Guidelines for Enrollment at PPGAdm (Exchange & Isolated Subjects)

The Graduate Program in Administration (PPGAdm) at UFSC welcomes international students through two main modalities. Check below which profile fits your situation.

⚠️ Mandatory Basic Requirements

  • Visa: A Student Visa (VITEM IV) or Mercosur Agreement visa is mandatory. Tourist visas do not allow enrollment.
  • CPF: The Brazilian Individual Taxpayer Registry (CPF) number is mandatory for registration in UFSC systems.
  • Health Insurance: Valid health insurance in Brazil with a medical/funerary repatriation clause is mandatory.

🅰️ Modality A: Partner Student (Exchange)

Intended for students officially enrolled in a Master’s or PhD program abroad, supported by cooperation agreements or Sandwich Doctorate programs.

📋 Required Documentation

  • 📥 Official Application Form;
  • Study/Research Plan: Must have the “approval” of a UFSC professor (local co-supervisor);
  • Letter from Home Institution: Proving enrollment and recommendation;
  • Passport: Copy of ID pages and Visa;
  • Health Insurance: Full coverage including repatriation;
  • Photo 3×4: Recent and digitalized.

ℹ️ Bond Details

  • Duration: 1 or 2 semesters (renewable upon agreement).
  • 🏫 Status: Temporary (does not yield a degree from UFSC, but credits can be validated at the home institution).
  • 📅 Submission Deadline: At least 30 days before the start of the semester (March or August).

🅱️ Modality B: Isolated Subject

For foreigners residing in Brazil who do not have a formal link with UFSC programs but wish to take specific subjects (non-degree).

📝 Application Process

  1. Check the list of subjects offered in the semester.
  2. Contact the Professor in Charge of the subject to request authorization.
  3. Send the documentation to the PPGAdm Secretariat within the deadlines of the “Isolated Subject” call.

  • ✅ Curriculum Vitae
  • ✅ Diploma/Transcript (Translated)
  • ✅ Passport/ID (RNM)
  • ✅ Justification Letter
Note: Limited to two subjects per semester. Does not guarantee future admission as a regular student.

🗓️ Calendar

UFSC operates on a semester system:

  • Semester 1: March to July.
  • Semester 2: August to December.

🗣️ Language

The official language of instruction is Portuguese. Intermediate/Advanced proficiency is recommended.
